posting songs and/or videos on the zone

Category: Zone BBS Suggestions and Feedback

It would be cool to be able to post videos or songs on the zone. The zone would then be almost like Facebook, but more accessible. There should be a section created so that this could be made possible. Also, this should be for premium members only.

no, it would be 2 much bandwith and plus, if you want to do that, why not just post a link on the boards to a youtube video or something

Post 3 by TheAsianInvasion (The Zone's invader) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 5:22:08

agrees with dan.

Post 4 by laced-unlaced (Account disabled) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 5:27:24

i'm not trying to sound harsh or anything, but to the original poster, don't you think you are asking for a bit much?. i've seen a few of your suggestions now and havon't you learnt when we say no not to start up again moaning?

god!

Post 5 by laced-unlaced (Account disabled) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 5:30:49

and okay, you're not the only 1... star fighter 12, and someone else posting about the blog.

what is the current craze with wanting things that just won't happen?

anyone would think you 3 are the same people... and i'm being serious!

Post 6 by TheAsianInvasion (The Zone's invader) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 5:40:28

lmaooo. wow just really put it out there, eh dan?

Post 7 by laced-unlaced (Account disabled) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 5:44:19

yeah ray, well i like to tell everyone how it is, and hmm... when you read the same sort of topics every single day, it gets very anoying. i love reading the suggestion board, but i just think some people don't know when to stop

Post 8 by Shadow_Cat (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 10:41:06

At least the original poster had the sense to recognize that if such a feature were ever to be implemented, it should be for premiums only, unlike Darth Vader, who wants everything on this site for free.

And as far as the feature itself: great idea in theory, but I'm not sure it would work out so well in practice. Facebook has a lot more money and bandwidth to play with than the Zone does. So, I'm not against the idea, I just don't think it's probably very realistic.

Post 9 by Striker (Consider your self warned, i'm creative and offensive like handicap porn.) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 10:55:07

and just think, some idiot would poste something coppywrited and if surtain government organizations found out well, by zone. lmao

Post 10 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 14:22:28

Well, to create the bandwith, I suppose that the zone would need more money to do that, which would be a little heavy on those who can't afford it. I know this is off topic, but for Valhalla, if you can't make any mature comments about my posts, please don't say anything at all. This is getting to be annoying.

Post 11 by andrew1989 (Account disabled) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 14:50:45

yeah right. If they did that they'd probably have to increase the shitty audio profile quality for everyone too. Dream on.

Post 12 by SEPTEMBER-TWILIGHT (CAN I TALK? PLEASE?) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 15:13:10

lol, it would be nice to be ble to post stuff, but i agree with everyone else. too much bandwith and all that good stuff. and like james said, there are a lot of idiots out there who does stupid things, lol. so if someone post copyrighted materials ... wa la, bye bye zone, lol

Post 13 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 15:18:33

That is true. If someone could come out with something that would prevent people from uploading copyrighted things from the zone, that would be great. Obviously, it would take a while for that to come out. Otherwise, I can see where you all are coming from concerning uploading things illegally.

Post 14 by laced-unlaced (Account disabled) on Monday, 17-Nov-2008 15:40:27

agree with post 11, and to post 10, ignore is there for a reason

Post 15 by l_bryant2004 (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 18-Nov-2008 12:32:14

Hi. That's why there is Klango? http://www.klango.net. They offer what the Zone has and a bunch more, even accessible games and software for download as well music and Youtube videos in one package, of course they have more servers probably than the Zone does.

Post 16 by cumbiambera2005 (i just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 18-Nov-2008 16:06:40

Hmmmmmmm.
Sounds good but you all have a point.

Post 17 by cumbiambera2005 (i just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 18-Nov-2008 16:07:03

Gosh drama to every board I swear! Lol!

Post 18 by TylerK (This site is so "educational") on Sunday, 07-Dec-2008 17:00:51

Have you all forgotten about the HTML element? You don't need to use the Zone's bandwidth for that--each individual browser would make its own HTTP request to the external URL to play the sound or watch the video. The Zone would not need to scan all the external URL's, and if you don't like the thing you're listening to or watching, ESC stops it in IE and (most likely) Firefox.

Um. Not everyone knows how to do that, including me.

lol Tyler. Have you forgotten that the zone does not support the embed element? You cannot use it, anywhere.

Post 21 by cumbiambera2005 (i just keep on posting!) on Monday, 08-Dec-2008 3:17:36

Oh really? I didn't know hitting escape stops most things from playing. Does that work on pretty much any website?

Post 22 by SEPTEMBER-TWILIGHT (CAN I TALK? PLEASE?) on Monday, 08-Dec-2008 6:15:18

um, if hitting escape works on any website, then I could have done that a long time ago with youtube, lmfao. And roflmao Kai

Post 23 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Monday, 08-Dec-2008 16:37:42

No, escape does not work on every web site.

Post 24 by Ukulele<3 (Try me... You know you want to.) on Thursday, 18-Dec-2008 23:10:33

Only on imbedded players. I wish the zone would bring back that feature. lol I remember Kai's awesome profile! It's too bad we can't implement that html code anymore.

Post 25 by TylerK (This site is so "educational") on Tuesday, 30-Dec-2008 9:44:23

Why did the Zone get rid of support for and <bgsound>? And while we're at it, how about possibly adding support for those, along with and , along with maybe <applet>,
,
, <h1..6>, and
?

Post 26 by TylerK (This site is so "educational") on Tuesday, 30-Dec-2008 9:51:30

And not to mention ?

Post 27 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Thursday, 29-Oct-2009 18:53:45

And this board is being brought back up to the top of the list because I can do it and also because I'm absolutely board. lol I was stupid when I posted this board, I'll just say that. lol I should see how much drama I can stir up when I post a board that's more stupid than this one. lol jk

Post 28 by OceanDream (An Ocean of Thoughts) on Friday, 30-Oct-2009 15:48:40

It'll happen, I promise. lol.

I really wish we could do that, but...no. not possible.

YouTube is awesome!

Post 29 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Friday, 30-Oct-2009 17:51:41

Nah, it'll never happen on here with the crappy quality and stuff like that. lol

Post 30 by TylerK (This site is so "educational") on Wednesday, 04-Nov-2009 21:58:53

That's why we should allow for , , and , that's how we can link to external URL's which would contain better quality files, and the Zone wouldn't have to store the sound/video files. Or, we could use JavaScript to make an easy-to-use function to play sounds, always using , which could be put into the head of every page. All a user would have to do would be:

Post 31 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Thursday, 05-Nov-2009 1:26:49

Tyler, not everyone knows how to do all that.

Post 32 by OceanDream (An Ocean of Thoughts) on Thursday, 05-Nov-2009 9:20:10

Hahahaha. I'd never be able to do that if I copied it to the clipboard. lol. We might as well get the permission to code this site ourselves. lol.

Post 33 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Thursday, 05-Nov-2009 13:52:51

That would be cool, but the thing is that not everyone knows HTML or PHP, so it wouldn't work. lol

Post 34 by TylerK (This site is so "educational") on Thursday, 05-Nov-2009 18:38:29

Then people could choose to learn if they wanted to have a hand in site coding.

Post 35 by CrystalSapphire (Uzuri uongo ndani) on Monday, 09-Nov-2009 11:09:59

it would take too much band with, but here's an idea have a section in the profile that says link or other link etc and that would be where you put the link kinda like the website but separate

Post 36 by illumination (Darkness is history.) on Wednesday, 11-Nov-2009 12:14:29

Maybe we should just get more bandwidth and have us premiums pay more for the bandwidth. lol jk I wouldn't want to do that, considering we already have crappy quality in our audio profiles and things like that.

Post 37 by TylerK (This site is so "educational") on Wednesday, 11-Nov-2009 16:42:07

Then, why not have us put the audio profile on an external site and not even bother with doing them on here? The quality's too bad on here as it is. If you want better quality, then use an external site and use that URL in place of uploading your audio prof to this site.
